Game 19 Red Sox 5 Rangers 3 Manny does it again!
Manny Ramirez hits the game winning home run to lift the Sox past the Texas Rangers. David Ortiz tied the game up in the previous at bat with a single. Jonathan Pabelbon picked up his sixth save of the year.
Game 18 Red Sox 11 Texas 3
Come on now we all knew David Ortiz wasn’t going to struggle all year now didn’t we. Big Papi came up big with a great slam to put the icing on the cake. Hopefully Ortiz will gets his confidence back with his five RBI night. Daisuke Matsuzaka (W, 4-0) gave up three runs in 5 1-3 inning.
The Red Sox have won the last six out of seven and will play the Rangers again tomorrow night.
Game 15 Red Sox 5 Indians 3
Jason Varitek the veteran catcher delivered a game winning pinch hit in the ninth inning to give the Red Sox a 4-3 lead. Red Sox added another run in the ninth on a Youkilis single.
Another hero in tonight’s game was Jed Lowie who made his major league debut with three RBI’s. With the Red Sox trailing 2-1 in the seventh, Jed got his first major league hit scoring a pair of RBI’s. How sweet it is getting all the RBI’s in the Red Sox’s first three runs.
Tim Wakefield kept the Sox close with a great performance allowing two runs in six innings.
Hideki Okajima (S,1) pitching well this season again got his first save.
Game 14 Red Sox 6 Indians 4
Red Sox take the first game of three game series in comeback fashion with another big clutch home run by Manny Ramirez in the ninth. Ortiz had a couple of singles after having the previous game off. Hopefully this will help him get back on track. Jonathan Pabelbon came in the ninth to do what he does best and dominateand rack up another save and rack up another save.
Game 13 Red Sox 8 Yankees 5
Phil Hughes Fenway debut was one he would like to forget. Hughes was only able to go two innings before being lifted. Sox were able to put two big innings together in the first and third innings. Matsuzaka picked up his third win although had control problems again and was backed with a lot of run support.
Game 12 Red Sox 4 Yankees 3
This game was a pitching duel in the early innings with some great defense on both sides. Robinson Cano made a great play at second to turn double play that could have tuned into a big inning for the Sox. The Sox came up with their own defensive gem made by Sean Casey at first to take a hit away. Manny blasted a home run over the green monster in the fourth inning. The Yankees were able to muster a few runs off Beckett in the sixth but The Sox came right back with a three run inning with a big double belted by Manny with first base open and two outs.
Beckett after throwing just forty pitches in the first five innings appeared to be wearing down in the seventhm, was relieved by Manny DelCarmen. Manny struck ouy the only batter he faced.
A few more defensive gems made in the eight inning with great plays back to back form Lugo and Drew.
After a two hour rain delay with two outs in the eight and two on Pabelbon came in relief to strikeout Alex Rodriguez on three pitches. He strikeout out two in the ninth to post his fourth save.
Game 11 Red Sox 1 Yankees 4
Chien-Ming Wang was dominate over the Red Sox batters in this one. Sox weren’t able any offense against the Yankees tonight. It only took 93 pitches to go the distance and get his third win of the year.
Mike Timlin came off the disable list Friday, his first appearance against the Yankees in a 1-1 tie is questionable. Red Sox middle relief has been terrible for the Red Sox this year.
The Red Sox send Josh Beckett to the mound to try and even out the series.
Game 10 Red Sox 12 Detroit 6
Red Sox take rubber game.
Mike Lowell was put on the 15-day disable list. In tonight’s game it didn’t matter. Kevin Youkilis was moved to third base, had seven fielding chances one bare hand and played each one flawlessly. Kevin came up from the minors as a third baseman and was moved first. Kevin had two RBI’s and scored twice.
“Youk put on a show defensively,” said Lowell,
Sean Casey played first, had two hits and three RBI’s. J.D. Drew continued with his hot bat going 3-3 scoring twice with two RBI’s. Drew has now hit safely in the seven games he’s played.
Tim Wakefield had trouble getting the ball over the plate but was cheap in the hit department. He allowed three hits, five walks, two runs one earned in five innings. He threw 108 pitches, wow a lot of pitches for five innings.
Manny Ramirez and Coco Crisp also chipped in with two RBI’s each.
Game 9 Red Sox 2 Detroit 7
Ok We know Detroit wasn’t going to lose every game but to bad they did get their first win against the Sox.
Lester pitches 5.1 innings with four earned runs. Walked four batters two of them scored, Lester really needs to cut down his walks.

Game 8 Red Sox 5 Detroit 0
Red Sox first home game celebrated the 2007 World Series championship. In front of a sellout crowd they received their championship rings. It was a liitle noisy at fenway for their opener. How sweet it is being home after a long long road trip.
Matsuzaka (2-0) gave up four hits, seven strikeouts, and four walks in 6 2-3 innings. Red sox starters are still walking to many batters.
Kevin Youkilis three hits and two RBI’s. Tigers had only five singles and two errors for a frustrating day. Detroit has now lost all seven games to start the season.
